The Old Workshop Reviews

We had a great stay at The Old Workshop. The cottage was fully equipped with everything you need and the lovely owner Cristine had left a few generous goodies for us. The location is perfectly out in the countryside yet only 5 minutes to the nearest village with shops and cafes and places like Whitby, Robin Hood's Bay and Filey further afield and the night sky from the hot tub is fabulous with very little light pollution around. Would happily return if in the area again!
We had a fabulous time at The Workshop. It was spotlessly clean, warm and welcoming. The hot tub was a lovely addition as the night skies were stunning. Our hosts were incredible nothing was too much trouble. Our dogs were very impressed with the welcome and both tried to share the luxurious dog bed, even though we had brought both of theirs with us. The location of the property is prefect for seeing the beauty of Gods own County. Its so easy to reach beaches, dales, moors and woodland. We cant wait to book again for next year.
We had an excellent stay. We really liked the open plan barn and all the little touches that made our visit extra special. The hot tub was a real bonus. We will definitely recommend and be back soon

We have just returned from a wonderful stay and wouldn't hesitate to recommend to others. Check inout was smooth, the property is well equipped and the hosts were responsive and kind enough to acknowledge we were visiting to celebrate a birthday. The property is peaceful and fully enclosed which put our mind at ease as we travelled with both children and dogs, the helpful touches such as high chair, cot, dog towels etc were much appreciated. The log burner made it lovely and cosy, especially as we stayed during a particularly cold spell of weather and we wouldn't hesitate to return, thanks again.

Our The Old Workshop review: Amazing place, absolutely stunning. Very warm and cosy, all mod cons. Fantastic hot tub, on top of the hill. Very peaceful and quiet. Lovely quality bedding and towels. Comfy beds. Massive shower room. One of best properties Ive ever stayed in. Will definitely be back.
Very nice stay overall couple of low points the door blinds was tricky to use ... Very nice stay overall couple of low points the door blinds was tricky to use but after working out how to use them wasnt has frustrating to use sofa was very squeaky at one side we really enjoyed all that was on offer hot tub was amazing log burner was really nice to sit around late at night blazing away also the owner was very helpful the walks with the dog in the fields was great close to local shops and amenities I felt refreshed and relaxed
It was a stunning location , peaceful and quiet. The only downside was we felt that the kitchen could be better equipped with additional equipment which would have been useful during our stay. A pair of oven gloves instead of one small pad, a larger frying pan as the small one was a bit limiting when cooking for 4 adults. We could not find a hand towel to use in the kitchen as there was only one tea towel which we used for washing up. Perhaps some kitchen roll or a small roll of silver foil which could be left in between guests. Also it would help if there was a few basic essential left such as salt, and pepper and a small bottle of oil to help when cooking. Another small detail perhaps a hook in the bathroom to hang up a clothes Although I know you had a chair but this was used for towels. The upstairs bedroom mezzanine was quirky and interesting , however it may be more to make that a twin room with beds positioned under the eaves either side of the room may be suitable may be more suitable for children who may no need the head room and leave the downstairs bedroom as a double. We make these comments with good intentions as we too are in the hospitality trade and understand the issues of meeting everyones needs. We must congratulate you on making a beautiful building accommodation whilst respecting its history and heritage. As we have friends living in Scarborough nearby we may well return next year.Thank you both for making our stay relaxing despite the snow and storm Bert

Lovely accommodation and facilities. We had a fantastic stay! It was made to feel very homely, warm and comfortable. We enjoyed the open plan layout and well equipped kitchen for cooking. The hot tub is a lovely touch, being able to relax and watch the stars on an evening was fantastic. Our two dogs enjoyed the place too, as well as being close to lots of lovely beaches, walks and amenities. The owners were very helpful throughout our stay too. Thank you, would definitely recommend.
