Enjoyed sitting for meals on the decking and looking out at the beautiful lake and its ducks, though the noise of the nearby motorway does carry at certain points in the day. Some thoughtful touches inside like blankets and hot chocolate, prosecco and even woke up one morning to find freshly baked bread outside the door. Owners very friendly; we buRead moremped into Peter multiple times over the course of the week and he helped us make the most of our stay. We had a lovely time - thank you. Hide

Bywater was an ideal location for us because we were able to ride our bicycles, jump on a train to visit places of interest, drive easily to different locations and walk as much as we liked, due to the flat land and nearby canal. The owners were welcoming, kind, thoughtful and so helpful! We would not hesitate to revisit should the opportunity arisRead moree. We enjoyed ourselves so much and were so happy to have chosen such a quiet, home from home place to celebrate our 40th Wedding Anniversary. Hide

A restful and relaxing stay - the setting overlooking the lake was super, and everything was provided for, inside and out. We loved sitting on the covered veranda watching the rain in the lake, and made good use of the hot tub.

Fantastic hosts who make an effort to make you feel welcome, however this is not a five star cottage and it is definitely style over substance. The noise from the very close by M62 would cause a problem in summer months. There were dirty cutlery and plates in the kitchen, which the hosts should have checked prior to our arrival. The bed is very firRead morem, which for us caused backache. It is a beautiful outlook across the lake and the wildlife was stunning, but we would not return. Hide
