We had a fantastic stay at The Pumphouse! The lodge is super cosy and beautifully located, making it perfect for a relaxing break. It’s well-equipped with everything we needed, plus some thoughtful touches from the owners, who were really friendly and helpful. The hot tub was a real highlight, offering such a peaceful view. The surrounding countryside is lovely, with plenty of charming pubs and sights to explore. We definitely want to come back sometime - it’s a little gem!

We really enjoyed relaxing on the decking, taking in the stunning lake views and watching the ducks. The inside had some nice touches like blankets, hot chocolateand prosecco, which made it extra cosy. Waking up to freshly baked bread outside was a lovely surprise. The owners were super friendlyand we kept bumping into Peter, who was always happy to help us get the most out of our stay. All in all, a great experience - thank you!

We loved staying in Bywater; it’s a perfect spot for exploring on foot, cycling, or catching trains to nearby sights. The area’s flat terrain and the canal made everything easy and relaxing. The hosts were incredibly friendly, attentiveand genuinely helpful, which made our stay even better. We felt so at home and peaceful, especially celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary. Honestly, we wouldn’t hesitate to come back if we get the chance. Such a lovely, quiet place to unwind and enjoy ourselves!

We had a really peaceful time here. The view over the lake is stunningand everything we needed was there. Sitting on the veranda watching the rain fall was such a highlightand the hot tub was perfect for unwinding after a day out.
Emma
The hosts were really friendly and made us feel quite welcome, which was nice. The cottage isn’t quite a five-star place though - it feels more style over substance. The noise from the nearby M62 could be pretty annoying, especially in summer. Also, we found some dirty cutlery and plates in the kitchen, which should have been checked beforehand. The bed was very firm and gave us backache. On the plus side, the view across the lake was stunning and the wildlife was lovely. Still, we probably wouldn’t come back.
Emma
Really enjoyed the stay, loved the cosy atmosphere and all the thoughtful little details. Will come back!
