Suite Retreat, a contemporary, ground-floor apartment is situated on the idyllic Whitbarrow Holiday Village in Berrier near Penruddock, Cumbria. Boasting breath-taking countryside views and surrounded by the natural beauty of the Lake District National Park, Suite Retreat is the perfect retreat for couples.

The interior design of the property was outstanding and everything in there was top quality and felt expensive. The bathroom was amazing. Had a great stay and we had great weather to top it off while exploring the lakes.

Excellent accomodation with quality furnishings. Two massive smart TVs comfortable bed. Quality appliances in kitchen area. Unbelievable bathroom. Beautiful views from the patio area. Excellent on site bar and restaurant. Great location to explore the lake district. Would definitely return and recommend for a luxury romantic quality break.

Suite retreat is a luxurious base to explore the beautiful Lake District. The apartment is finished to a very high standard with modern appliances and spotlessly clean. The bed is so comfortable! The on site facilities at Whitbarrow are great and the fact that towels are provided for swimming is a real bonus. We would definitely recommend staying at Suite Retreat it is a bit of hotel luxury in a holiday park! The site is well signposted and easy to find. The food at the on site restaurant was good and we'd recommend the nearby Boot and Shoe pub for a good meal in a cosy pub setting.

There is no better way to explore the lakes than on water and you could even combine a cruise with a spectacular walk. For great days out in this region then this attraction is highly recommended and will appeal to couples as well as families. Corporate groups are also well catered for.

We love this day out in Cumbria where you're encouraged to "take a fresh look". Some of the amazing animals you will get to see include the only Canadian Lynx in the UK and you will have the opportunity to help their Lynx Conservation Project. The Asian Fishing Cat is also well worth a look - these cats are known for diving under the water and catching fish! Other activities include fantastic flying displays and play areas for the little ones...

Rydal Mount & Gardens are wonderfully situated between Lake Windermere and Rydal Water offering breathtaking scenery. The home of William Wordsworth from 1813 - 1850 the grand home is now lived in by the poets descendents but parts of the house and grounds are open to the public. Why not take a guided tour and see the rooms where many of the famous poems were written. The gardens are beautiful at all times of the year but in the summer offer a spectacular display of colour. There is also a gallery and a tearoom. Discounts are available for group bookings.

Tullie House collects a wide range of historic materials including objects, ephemera (printed material), photographs and associated information files. We think this museum and art gallery are excellent value for money as well.
