We were over the moon with this cottage, it exceeded our expectations. Beautiful location and the accommodation was superb we couldn't have done better here. We were fortunate enough to stay at the start of lambing season and were extremely grateful to Kay for allowing us to feed and meet the sheep, pigs and chicken and to hold the first lamb of the season which Kay kindly named after the birthday girl my mum Sue or Curly Sue. We were celebrating mums 70th birthday and although the weather was not overly warm it did not matter as we could sit outside in the heated dome and appreciate the views while having lunch. We will definitely be returning!

We had a great week staying here with our family. The cottagefacilities and location is amazing. The owners made sure everything was perfect for us. We have made some great memories to look back on. We would highly recommend staying here. We will be back
What an amazing place. the kids loved the farm tour and sledging in the snow !!!!
We had a wonderful stay over half term. The Farm is lovely with great space for the kids to roam they loved feeding veggie scraps to the pigs and visiting the pony and sheep, as well as using the playroom when it got too rainy out. We enjoyed the large, well stocked kitchen for family dinners and the cosy living room with a blazing fire, not to mention the outdoor pod and the hot tub! We were made to feel very welcome and Long Ing was a lovely base to go exploring from with drives out to the gorgeous countryside or a gentle walk over to the nearby village for a wander and a visit to the Boshaw Trout for a pint or two. Great location, lovely host and an excellent holiday. Thank you.
This lovely farmhouse in a beautiful location was extremely clean and had everything you would need. The owners are very friendly and thoughtful.
Andrew
Beautiful quiet location surprisingly close to Manchester, Leeds, and surrounding areas. We were so close to home and yet felt like we were in another country. The kids loved the farm tour, especially collecting eggs. Seems we need chickens now!
Tracey
Great cottage . Fabulous owners . Amazing views
Beautiful house and lovely surroundings. Very comfortable, cosy and clean, owners had thought of everything. A real bonus seeing the farm animals, would definitely recommend this beautiful place.
A wonderful cottage with everything you could ask for. The access to the farm animals is a particular joy for kids.
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Long Ing Farm in August 2024. The facilities were stunning. The home is extremely well maintained, full of different spaces to relax in, and loads of games and activities for the kids. The kitchen was large and wellequipped. Our hosts couldnt have been more welcoming and it was great to be able to explore the farm guided by Kay and on our own. We particularly enjoyed the hot tub and the dome where we ate most of the time. Thank you!
Joanne
We had a lovely week at Long Ing Farm. The cottage is beautifully appointed with stunning views. It was very comfortable and cosy and the owners have thought of everything. The hot tub was lovely with views across the valley. You feel very rural yet the village of Hade Edge is just at the end of the drive and Holmfirth is about a five minute drive away. Kay the owner was very friendly and helpful and always available if we needed anything.
Michael
Quality, quality, quality is what you get when you stay at Long Ing Farm. Quality 1, as your stay gets closer, Kay sends information about your booking, directions, and attractions Restaurants Pubs & the like this along with your brochure listed amenities and there you have a comprehensive knowledge of items supplied. There is everything the extensive views beyond the immaculate craftsmanship of the stone mason, the cleanliness of the grounds, the planting, the thought a credit to you, and weve not mentioned the house yet. Quality 2, the greeting, the tour and explanations of all things house, you cannot but notice the quality of the house contents, the attention to detail shown by the craftsmen, this must have been and still is a passion, and still must be a love to say if youre going to do it, do it right Quality 3, the hot tub, attended daily, never intrusive always clean & ready. The dining POD a first for us a wonderful addition for all weather outdoor dining OTHERS OF NOTE Copious towels, the largest basket of logs Ive seen in a rental, welcome goodies a pleasant thought, cheers! We score a 10 for Long Ing Farm Sorry to leave. Michael Croft
The cottage was fantastic & spotlessly clean. A group of 7 women, we had such a good weekend! Kay couldnt do enough for us, even giving us all a lift into Holmfirth for the folk festival. Booked again for next year xx
Great place. Long Ing Farm is by far one of the best cottages we've stayed in. Welcoming, comfortable, clean with plenty of space both inside and out, and everything we needed rain or shine. Perfect hosts, very generous with their time on the farm, just when the lambs were arriving too! We'll be back.
Amazing place! Beautiful scenery, so peaceful. The property had everything we could possibly need, we cooked a great roast dinner in the AGA. The pod and the hot tub were an absolute hit! Beautiful walks from the front door. Kay was a perfect host, nothing too much trouble. Thank you!
Really enjoyed our stay. A very well equipped and presented property. Owners were very friendly and welcoming and even introduced us to the newborn lambs, something of which I personally loved. Will definitely book again in the future.
Absolutely stunning holiday cottage, everything is actually better than it appears on the website. Myself and the family cant say enough about what a great break we had and to cap it all Kate and James are the friendliest of hosts . A big thank you from us all
What an amazing place! Everything is thought of and the place itself is stunning. It was clean, comfortable, warm! You can tell so much thought has gone into everything. The views are amazing, especially whilst sat in the gorgeous hot tub! Debs looked after us and I cant thank her enough for all her help! Me and my friends had a lovely relaxing stay and I will definitely book again and recommend! Thank you so much!
Absolutely faultless stay property beautiful, spotlessly clean and every little thing thought of. Even dealt with our last minute change on bedroom layout calmly and quickly. Cannot recommend highly enough.
Fabulous location and very comfortable, cosy accommodation. Plenty of cutlery and kitchen equipment. Lots of extras for a varied experience outside barbecue, fire pit, dining cabin, jacuzzi. We loved feeding the pigs. The dog enjoyed the safety of the garden and exercise field. We could have done with extra towels and slip on shoes for jacuzzi as well as the dressing gowns provided. The dishwasher was not performing efficiently. Instructions to use the oven and cooker needed.
Elizabeth
We had a wonderful stay thanks to the owners' hospitality and it was particularly nice to want for nothing in the cottage. The various living spaces meant we were never on top of one another, and the views and the animals created a delightful environment which the whole family enjoyed. The firepit and hottub were lovely indulgences which made staying there a real luxury and a complete joy. The area is gorgeous too beauty and adventure in equal measure
Myfanwyn
Beautiful house, extremely well kitted out. Host very friendly & helpful. Would love to return with family.

We had the most fabulous time staying at Long Ing Farm! Kay was extremely welcoming and friendly when we arrived. The property well exceeded our expectations and was pristine! I havent been in a hotel room as clean as the holiday cottage was! 100 want to visit again!
Daniel
We have recently returned from a stay at Long ing Farm. The property was lovely, spacious and attending as a family of 6 and a dog there was more than enough room to make our stay comfortable. Kay was so attentive and we really loved and appreciated a great introduction. The little extras made the trip. A great base for visits to the beautiful Holnfirth and also lots of walking on offer. Even though we went in October the garden pod allowed us to still eat out under the stars in the cooler evenings Overall we loved it and would definitely return without doubt
Amazing stay , beautiful property and area is lovely. Went above and beyond to make our stay as amazing as it was
Justine
We had an amazing time. The farmhouse had everything we needed and the hosts were available for any questions we had. It was the cleanest holiday property we have stayed in. We walked everyday straight from the door which we loved and the views from the property were exceptional. Cant wait to go back and stay again
We had a lovely stay at Long Ing Farm. The cottage has everything you could possible need and more. The only difficulty we experienced was the depth of the steps leading onto the garden. These were difficult for our elderly family members. Shallow steps and a hand rail would make this easier for elderly residents or people with mobility issues. Deb was lovely, helpful and friendly. We found many nice walks with our dog. The hot tub was fabulous to relax in. I would recommend the cottage to future guests, especially if you love the peace, quiet and stunning views.
Absolutely fantastic for the 4 of us and a dog. We were 4 sixty somethings getting together after 40 odd years, to have a nostalgic trip back to Huddersfield where we had all met as students. This was just the luxury we needed. The house is so well equipped and we couldnt fault anything.
The description and pictures simply dont do this cottage justice. We have stayed in a large number of cottages across the country and this is by and far the best experience we have had! I use the term experience because that is what you get with Long Ing farm. Kay is an incredible host from the Easter Hamper to the incredible farm tour, everything was excellent. We had loads planned for the weekend but ended up scrapping plans to stay in and around the cottage and Hade Edgebecause there was so much to do! We are a family of five, three children aged 510 and visited with my inlaws. There is something for everyonemy highlightthe slow roast lamb I cooked in the AGA
Long Ing Farm Cottage is beautiful. This is more like a second home than a holiday home. Kay has ensured that everything is provided! The house is wonderfully spacious, superbly maintained and spotlessly clean. We have to make special mention of the mattresses most comfortable holiday beds weve ever experienced! The view from the windows and especially the hot tub are stunning. We had a lovely walk around the farm, along the stream, past the sheep and friendly horse. It was lambing season and we were able to get up close to the lambs on our farm tour with Kay, and met Barbara and Betty, the friendly piggies. Just make sure to take your wellies it is a farm after all! We highly recommend a stay at Long Inn Farm and hope to return.
Elliott
It was a great pleasure to stay at the Long Ing Farm. Kay and family have an outstanding holiday home, in a wonderful location. We will definitely be returning. Thank you for all the amazing hospitality, and best of luck with the rest of the lambing. Kind Regards, Elliott & the rest of the guys.
We went to celebrate our Ruby Anniversary so we had 3 generations there. The cottage is in a beautiful spot with amazing views and plenty of local walks and trails. The owner Kay is absolutely lovely and so helpful. She lives on the farm and is on hand for anything but not intrusive in any way. On the Sunday morning Kay took us around the farm and the grandchildren fed the animals and picked their own eggs. They thoroughly enjoyed it and it was very informative for us adults to. The facilities at the cottage are second to none it had everything you could possibly want. Sadly we never got to use the fire pit because of weather. Will definitely return though and hopefully have better weather
Bethan
Fabulous property, situated on a working farm adds to its charm. Beautiful views across the valley with a changing panorama throughout the day. And best of all clear skies at night to see the stars. The owners are on site and very friendly and helpful but not intrusive. The farm tour was great fun and enjoyed by us all ages 17 months 57 years. The house is well equipped, we even had a festive Christmas tree and decorations and treat yourself to one of the locally made cakes you can order through the owners they are amazing. I would highly recommend this property and it is definitely 5 stars.
Fabulous cottage and location, Kay was so friendly and we all loved being on the farm. Everything we needed was there. We will definitely be going again
Pamela
Super host, lots of lovely personal touches, such as robes and slippers to wear out to the hot tub, and marshmallows to toast on the fire. Anyone wanting a peaceful comfortable break away from home should book this place.
The hosts Kay and James were absolutely wonderful! Nothing was too much trouble. Kay's farm tour is brilliant and our 10 and 7 year old grandsons loved it, as did we!! Highly recommend this holiday
Hosts were exceptional, nothing too much trouble . Farm tour with Kay was very enjoyable and educational, loved all the animals ,almost took some baby runner ducks home. Would love to return someday. thanks very much for a lovely week. From the Blake Family.
Excellent host and facilities for a multi generational group of 8 family members
Great location and perfect hosts
