The Willows Reviews

Lovely stay at the Willows, could benefit from a bigger fridge as it was quite tight fitting everything in for 10 adults staying.

We enjoyed the holiday, cottage is very spacious and great location. Downstairs cinema room very comfortable and pool table great addition. We were lucky to get parked straight outside of property but street otherwise very busy. We requested hot tub to be heated for arrival but we had to heat it and couldnt use until next day. Hot tub very small for occupancy of 10 5 of us could just fit it in but not comfortably Plates, glasses etc were not clean we had to wash before use. Several chipped plates. Dust under pool table and high areas. Bedroom off main bathroom would benefit from a set of drawers instead of sofa as wardrobe too small for a weeks stay. However, despite small issues we would book again.

The Willow's living areas were perfect for our group of 10 adults. The downstairs space with pool table and large screen TV was huge, so we could spend time as a group together comfortably. Having a toilet and fridge down there were a bonus. The hot tub was also a treat, not massively hot though. Although the kitchen had enough space for us to sit together to eat, the resources weren't all good. There was chipped crockery, a pair of children's scissors rather than proper kitchen scissors, no tongs, not enough coasters or place mats etc. We always look for accommodation to go away at the same time each year and we cook a huge Christmas dinner on the Saturday of our stay and although we managed, as self catering accommodation, the kitchen could be better equipped. During the last 17 years of using large accommodations, this is possibly the first one that didn't have a welcome hamper with milk and local treats. We would definitely recommend The Willows for a group of adults but be aware of its faults. One 'ensuite' can be made do with, but not great, with the shower virtually over the toilet and the shared bathroom really belongs as an ensuite to one of the rooms. As we've holidayed together so often, it was manageable. We were there at the same time as storm Darragh and two of the rooms, with lakeland slate as walls literally let a hooley blow through and until getting into bed we avoided being in there, especially at the top of the house, as it was so cold. Once in bed it was fine because as with the other rooms, the bed was so comfy. We needed a change of pillow in one of the rooms and this was provided by the amazing staff at the office, where we collected the keys. We would recommend interaction with the local staff as they were very accommodating and friendly. We would definitely return, probably next year, but a little bit of tuning of the smaller details wouldn't go amiss.
What an amazing house right in the centre of Windermere! The house decor is very clean and modern with 5 lovely bedrooms. Everyone commented on how comfy the beds were. The downstairs pool room is perfect for having everyone together and the house felt big enough for the 10 of us. Would definitely recommend and would definitely come back and stay here!
House was cold and very draughty. Especially upstairs family bathroom. Television in front room way to high. Downstairs you can hear next door very plainly, as if in the same room as you. Also cold. We would not recommend staying at this house.

Our The Willows review: Amazing house, perfect location. This was our sixth year of returning to Windermere and as a group and we, have all said this has been the best house we've stayed in yet!
The most stunning property with every home confirm youll need. A group of ladies enjoyed a fabulous weekend here and would highly recommend it. Nothing was un catered for.
Had a lovely stay here with ten people, the house was comfortable, clean, and spacious enough for our group. Rooms were cozy and beds were very comfy. Bathrooms were mostly great apart from one very small ensuite showertoilet cubicle where using the shower wet the entire tiny room, there also isn't much privacy as the door is glass and doesn't fill the whole frame. The kitchen was suitable but not so well equipped, definitely needs some more cookware. There was no salt and pepper in the grinders and the dish soap was watered out. Kitchen table was big enough and even expandable to fit all of us. We made good use of the hot tub, which was clean and ready to use when we arrived. Was fun to use even in cold wet weather. The front sitting room gets very cold but there is a wood burning stove. The downstairs lounge was a great communal area with a big comfy sofa and huge TV, and we very much enjoyed the pool table. The house is in a great location with some nice walkspubscafes etc. nearby. Parking outside the property is never guaranteed as there are no designated spaces, a few times we had to park a 10 minute walk away, so not ideal if you are planning to drive a lot during your stay. A lot of the photos on the listing for the Willows seem to actually be from the property next door, which is very similar, but it's still a bit misleading as they are a different layout despite having the same amenities. Overall we had a great time, a few minor improvements needed here and there but still a lovely property with good facilities in a great location.
Amazing property.
Property was pretty much perfect! Great location and really comfy beds. However we were extremely disappointed at the lack of supplies at the house. We paid around 2000 for 2 nights and you didnt even supply some tea and coffee. Salt and pepper grinder provided but not filled. You requested for the place to be returned clean and tidy bit with no cloths or paper towels or cleaning products. Watered down fairy liquid at the sink. For such a short term let and for the amount we spent I do not think that this is our responsibility to bring and would expect this as a minimum. I have never rented stayed in a holiday let that hasnt provided some basic things. There was also no baking trays for the oven. These basics would have made the stay for my 30th pretty perfect. Also check out at 10am with a clean and tidy for a house of 10 I think is pretty early!
