This cottage has been finished to a high standard and provides a luxurious holiday home for families or small groups of friends to relax and enjoy the many attractions of this pretty area.

There are two spacious bedrooms with a family bathroom, all furnished to a high standard. This then leads you to the good-sized sitting room, with a separate dining area, with plenty of comfy sofas making it a great place to relax after a full day out and about exploring the area.

The well-equipped kitchen is of a decent size, making it good to prepare those home-cooked meals. To the outside is a pretty shared courtyard, with your own private garden area with furniture and a hot tub, making it a good place to dine alfresco or enjoy something cool to drink.

Situated less than half a mile from the Trans Pennine Trail, head out on a bike ride along this popular route, with lots of other flat, quiet country roads spanning the surrounding area. A short walk takes you into the village itself where you can enjoy some local food or drink after a day out walking the area.

The short drive to Hornsea brings you to a traditional seaside resort with long sandy beaches, a variety of interesting shops and a good selection of restaurants and country pubs. For something different take a trip to Hornsea Mere which is the largest natural lake in Yorkshire and offers sailing, fishing and boat trips.

Take a visit to Hull for a day out, which has been named as the City of Culture for 2017 or visit the historic city of York. Further afield are the seaside towns of Bridlington and Scarborough with great beaches and promenades to frequent.

We had a lovely stay at this dog friendly cottage. Our Labrador Herbert particularly loved the freedom and run of the enclosed garden. We loved the warmth and cosy features in the cottage and it's quiet location. It's a wonderful base to explore the countryside and east coast beaches. We felt very much at home.

Lovely accommodation, clean and comfortable. Enclosed garden great for our dog and the hot tub was a real bonus. Owners friendly and helpful and the welcome cake, milk and dog biscuits were a very thoughtful touch.

Loved our week away, hosts were excellent, cottage was beautiful.
Some minor glitches which we mentioned to the owner. The main thing we were looking for was a peaceful location, and that's what we got.

Our Stable Cottage review: Stable cottage met all our needs. It was quiet and comfortable and the hot tub was a bonus. As we were there for 2 weeks, Elaine and Matthew allowed us to use their laundry facilities midstay. Nothing was too much trouble for them. We would return in the future.

A LITTLE GEM Stable cottage was clean and comfortable, with a private courtyard for sitting out very quiet and full of a variety of plants. Hot tub, a lovely way to relax with robes supplied! Made to feel very welcome by Elaine and Matthew, with a delicious lemon drizzle cake. Ideal countryside for cycling with many quiet country lanes ... and it's flat!!
The setting was wonderful and peaceful. The courtyard was secure for our dog and the location excellent for our usual visits along the coast. The cake left by the owners was scrumptious and the cottage well equipped for our family. WiFi and TV good, the hot tub was brilliant and truly made us feel pampered. Thank you to the hosts who were on hand if needed but didnt impose at all during the stay. We hope to be back!
Had a lovely week away, hosts were fantastic, went above and beyond in all ... Had a lovely week away, hosts were fantastic, went above and beyond in all aspects , lemon drizzle cake was definitely lovely, everything was spotlessly clean, nearly moved there xxxx
We had a lovely week at stable cottage, safe courtyard for our little dog and set in a great village with easy access to the coast. Nice and friendly owners who weren't obtrusive but were just a text message away if needed. Pity the weather wasn't kind to us but we made the best of it. Many thanks for a nice week away.
