Lakeside at Louper Weir Reviews

We had a lovely second stay here if theres one thing that I would like is a TV in the kitchen area near the dining table For us as a family thats where we spend most of our time as am sure most families do because thats the hart of the home. We all look forward to returning soon
There is no doubt that Lakeside at Louper Weir is a prestige rental. It is a beautifully built modern house with the most spectacular views of Lake Windermere. However it is not without faults there were a number of things broken, not working or not up to the standard you would expect from a house of this quality and resulting price bracket. To name a few the barbecue ignition wasnt working, the tv in the second bedroom had no signal, the toilet seats are quite old and discoloured and need replacing, there was regular interference to the main tv signal. Also, the WiFi in the home is quite dated and is one of those systems that constantly kicks you out and you have to reconnect to. The equipment in the kitchen is fairly hitech but the instructions left by the owner are not helpful or comprehensive enough. They assume you know that you have to lift the glass off of the Tepan Yaki grill in order to use it I stumbled across this by accident. Also the microwave was within one of the ovens and completely frustrating to use because of the complex menu system. The hob is too small for a home meant to cater for 8 persons. You can barely fit 2 pans on it. I was aware on booking that building work was taking place next door but was not aware how very intrusive it would be. The building project is vast and has been ongoing for 3 years. It involves the entire site to the right side of the building and the builders have a lovely view into all of the big glass windows on that side of the property. I feel the owners are not being open enough with customers about the privacy issues that this creates. The bedroom blinds are automated and if you want to enjoy the stunning views from the master bedroom, you have to have BOTH blinds open, which gives the builders a very clear view of the master bedroom and bed! This could be rectified by the owner but they have chosen not to do so. Also, our last day Friday we had 3 landscape gardeners at the property for the entire day when we wanted to enjoy the outside space and hot tub but felt awkward doing so. Finally, a couple of days after leaving the property we were emailed and asked about a missing soap dish as if we had taken it. We hadnt and had treated the house with care and respect and to receive this email was a surprise and a disappointment In summary, we had a wonderful stay but the house needs some basic maintenance and the owners need to think more about their guests experience rather than their bottom line.
This is a magnificent property. It has been built and furnished to a very high standard. The views from the house are spectacular the setting and comfort set the scene for the best morning coffee and evening drinks you can imagine. The housekeeper Katrina is so helpful and gave us a great orientation on the property when we arrived. Two comments on the feedback from other visitors 1. We found the noise from the building site a non issue. 2. We had a fairly cool period of weather at the house. I could imagine the house would be very hot on a warm summer's night. Ventilation could be better. Overall a fabulous vacation and fabulous property
Lovely place and stunning views over the lake, Well equipped kitchen. We found the main bedroom windows at the top would benefit from having blinds because the light comes in far to early.

Nowhere in the listing did you mention we were booking a holiday on a building site. Not really the relaxing, serene break we were sold. Yes the property is lovely and the views of the lake even better. But the fact still remains, that we were woken around 830am every morning to builders and their construction equipment. We couldnt even enjoy a morning coffee, on the balcony without sharing it with builders and the dust from the construction. Once construction on the entire site is complete, it would make a lovely place to stay. But until then, your customers should be given the truth about where they are spending 3k a week to stay.
Our Lakeside at Louper Weir review: We have stayed in this fabulous house three times. The facilities are first class and the location is brilliant, sat right on the lake. It is frustrating that you only get one set of keys which also operate the electric gate which is at the top of a long driveway. This means that you need to agree times of return with the rest of your family otherwise you cannot access the grounds or the house so you are kept outside on a busy road. The house was also very hot as it has lots of glazing to enjoy the views. The bedrooms especially with one room having no opening windows or ventilation.
This is the second time we have stayed in this superb property and have already booked again for next year. The house was very hot and we could not find a window key to unlock the window in the front bedroom, it had the sun on it most of the afternoon so became very warm by night time. Also, there is a blu ray DVD stated on the website and we could not find a DVD player ? The BBQ had no gas which was a real shame but I understand there is a supply chain issue but it would have been nice to know beforehand.
Fantastic accommodation in an amazing location. We had a full week of sunshine which is a first in the Lake District for us. The building work next door is a massive job but the builders were respectful of us and it did not spoil our experience as we were out most of the time they were working.
Be very careful staying at this property! There was a storm when we stayed there last week and they are trying to blame us for breaking the electric gates! As if a person could push the gate and break the mechanism! They have took 900 out my back for a good housekeeping bond and trying to charge an extra 2200 for something a storm caused! It seems like the owner try's anything to get money back! Total disgrace.
This is a spectacularly located house on the shore of Lake Windermere. The spec is high and the outlook impressive. The kayaks and lake access and hot tub are the cherries on top. However like guests before us there were just a few niggles. We arrived early and was told that on no terms we can get in there early as the owners are very strict about this. We had to return 3 times to get keys. It might be better to say the house wont be ready until 4pm? Any way that got the holiday started on a sour note. Otherwise the only issue is there is no microwave in the kitchen when all the blurb said there was. It is one of those things you only miss when you havent got it. We had lots of youngsters with us so could cope with the tech. Can imagine older people like us struggling. The builders next door were very discreet except we couldnt work out how to lower the blinds in one of the bathrooms! All in all a lovely stay n would defo return.
