Gisburn Forest Lodge Reviews

A lovely stay at a tranquil lodge. We had one minor issue which was quickly resolved by the owners with great communication throughout. The fridge freezer was a little on the small side for a week stay, but the lodge was clean and well stocked with towels. The hot tub was clean and well used throughout the February stay. Overall a lovely lodge for a short break.

Slightly smaller than it looks on the photos, but with 4 adults and 1 dog, we had plenty of room. Everything you need is there. Whether eating in or out. Enough towels for all your needs. Clean throughout and great use of the space. Hot tub is good, would have liked a bit more lighting outside though. The garden was secure enough for our dog to roam around. Not far from excellent walks and a visit to the old vicarage tea room is a must.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay here. The lodge was lovely and cosy we also really enjoyed the hot tub. We will definitely return!

We had a wonderful time at the lodge, the information provided meant we were prepared for the track to the lodge, however this was not as bad as some of the reviews made out. The area is lovely and peaceful, my only wish is to come back and stay during the summer months where we can make more use of the outdoor areas. That said the garden was loved by both our doggies and they were very sad to leave it behind, especially Ludo who is more upset he lost one of his balls somewhere! Staying over Christmas we came fully prepared to cook a full dinner, however the lodge was super prepared for us and we didn't want for anything, all the tools available in the kitchen meant we had a stress free Christmas. Thank you for the best Christmas we've had in many a year.
Stayed here for 4 nights in October. Communication was excellent with queries swiftly answered. We were lucky to have great weather during our stay although there had been nothing but rain in the previous weeks. The lodge is spotless and very comfortable. The bed was sooo comfy if very high! Loads of towels, kitchen well equipped although no welcome pack so you need to take all food you will need. Nice bottle of Prosecco and chocolates made up for that! Hot tub divine. Only negative is that awful track to it. Huge water filled potholes because of the previous rain impossible to avoid made for very nervous trips down it. Our car is low so we dreaded the journey every time and it will be spending a long time in the car wash! It is a fabulously secluded place and would love to stay again but only if there had been good weather previously.

Loved the location. Middle of nowhere.. so quiet. Just what we needed. Did visit places every day some lovely local villages. Waterfalls, holes. Yes we went up a hill path to see the hull pot. And ate at some wonderful local cafes and public houses. Oh and the jacuzzi was a plus. Thank you. Ps. Our dogs loved the garden too. Perfect get away.
Well maintained, comfortable, very clean. Got everything you need for a relaxing break. Hot tub fabulous after walkinggolfing. The access lane spoils it, although appreciate it is mentioned in description. Local Bistro looks inviting but alas we went when closed our mistake.

Gorgeous accommodation and lovely scenery
We had such a great holiday and made lots of wonderful memories as a family. I would highly recommend this lodge. Couldn't praise it enough. Everything you need for a relaxing get away or a great base for some hiking adventures. We loved it and will go back!
